Deathship One - Alpha Room

Rev Lacey was leaning up against a tree, resting.  The rest of the squad were resting likewise.  They were taking a break from their current mission and were deep in the Umbra Adâncă forests.  While resting, they were overcome by a bright light. The next thing they knew they were in some strange, large room. They had no idea how they got there, or what they were to do. The only thing they did know was they wanted to get out of this strange place.

All of a sudden, klaxons started blaring. They were so loud that Pvt. Henney's ears started bleeding. Some weird lights started flashing. Everyone had to close their eyes because it was so bright.

When they opened their eyes and could focus again, they realized that they weren't alone anymore...

"Father, what's going on?" asked Cpl Smith.

"I have no idea, but our only mission right now is to get out of here." Maj. Lacey responded.

Welcome to Deathship One by Joseph McCullough.  It's a game in the latest issue of Blaster magazine.  You can get the Blaster #4 from Wargame Vault

The Reverend and his squad started out in one corner of the map.  Their objective was to get to the other corner on their same side of the board.  The issue is that the walls can shift and more and more aliens can appear.

The squad is ready to move out and get back home.

At the end of the first turn, the squad has advanced up and taken out a bunch of Rieger in the upper right corner.  Only one was left alive.  More Rieger and Slathek move up on them

Lt. Williams takes aim and destroys a Rieger.  In the game, your troops hit on a 7+ on a d10.  If you roll an even number, then the alien model is removed.  Otherwise it is just knocked down.

In the event phase, the walls shift and crush a Slathek.

The squad face off with a Slathek and a Drekyl.  The Rieger and Slathek are hand to hand units.  The Drekyl can shoot.

The walls shifted again, the squad had to double back on their path.

The squad kept moving towards the egress point.  One by one, when they would get to it, the trooper would disappear.  All made it out of the room, but a few were banged up.

The other pictures I took didn't turn out very well, so we'll end the story here.
