Palm Trees and Banana Trees

Image
I'm going to be starting a Pulp Alley campaign in conjunction with my Airborne of Shadow Deep.  It's going to take place in Southeast Asia.  So I needed some more palm trees for terrain.  I was also given some banana trees a while ago. So, I've painted them all up and have them ready to provide cover for my company of adventures.

AAR 3 - The Infected Trees

Image
The Commandos were able to determine what had attacked the small village they had previously scouted out.  It ended up being a nest of spiders.  And not just any type of spider; Giant Spiders.  This is Mission 1 Scenario 2 from the Rangers of Shadow Deep rule book.  I didn't have to change anything to make it work with Airborne of Shadow Deep. "Hey Sergent." "What?" "Have I ever told you that I hate spiders?" "Most people hate spiders, Captain." "No, you don't understand.  I REALLY hate spiders." It was obvious that the spiders had been busy by the looks of things.  There were cocoons all over the place.  The size of the cocoons indicated that the must have bodies inside them.  The team quickly moves up and engages a spider. The Captain and Sergeant move up to take on a spider. Cpl. Smith takes to the hill for a better shot at a spider. With out notice, the spiders quickly swarm Cpt. Ryker and Sergeant Stryker.  Without batting ...

New Buildings

Image
I finally painted up my last two Tabletop World buildings.  I love these guys stuff.  It is so detailed and gorgeous.  They are pieces of art in their own right. I love how the Noble House looks.  The stone base is so menacing.  There's no way a party of adventurers could break down the solid front door.  Of course, that door is on the other side of this picture... The fact that the door on the second floor of the Ruined Townhouse opens, is such a small yet awesome feature.  I'm so excited to get this building on the table. Here's a link to their site.  For what you get, their stuff is well worth the price.   https://tabletop-world.com/

AAR 2 - The Missing Informant

Image
The Reverend Lacey got notified that one of his informants went missing.  He and his commandos went to the small village to investigate.  Once they got there, they knew things weren't right.  There was no one in the village.  It was completely deserted.  The houses were all locked up as if the whole village decided to move away.  What could have scared them so bad to leave everything behind? I played the Scenario 1: Deserted Village from the main Rangers of Shadow Deep rulebook.  I didn't need to make any changes to the scenario to work with Airborne of Shadow Deep.  Instead of the group looking for another ranger, it was an informant.  I left Aventine's sword in the scenario.  I figure it will work fine in the Weird War 2 setting. And on with the report... The commandos arrived at the small village and started looking around.  There wasn't anything special about the village.  Some houses surrounded a central area, and copses ...

First battle AAR 1 - Scouting out Umbra Adâncă

Image
I got my first game play in of Airborne of Shadow Deep.  I had a great time and really enjoyed the game. I played a modified Mission 2, Scenario 1 from the Rangers of Shadow Deep rulebook.  I removed the river from the scenario, and changed the camp to the cemetery.   I've replaced all the references to "Gnolls" with "Nazis" in the Bestiary.  I did combine the Gnoll with the Gnoll Archer.  I figured since we're using rifles, the Archer would be the best to keep. Major Lacey and his Commandos arrived in Romania and started scouting out Umbra Adâncă.  They were moving silently through the town when they spotted a group of Nazis in a cemetery.  This seemed pretty odd, so the team decided to move in and take a closer look. The Nazi Sergeant needed to relieve himself and decided to pee next to a statue outside the cemetery gate in Umbra Adâncă.  Little did he know, Maj. Lacey and his Commandos were hiding just around a wall next to the towns chur...
