Major Lacey and his Commando Team

The Major Reverend Lacey and his British Commandos have come to Umbra Adâncă to investigate what the Thule Society or the Third Reich are up to.

All models are from Warlord Games

Major Rev. Lacey

When Tom Lacey graduated from seminary school, he knew that he wanted to join the military.  He was quickly assigned as his battalions Chaplain.  The Reverend was very fair, kind, and helpful.  He truly loved the men who came to him for spiritual guidance.  While working for the battalion, his faith continued to grow.

One day Tom was called to battalion HQ.  He thought that he was going to be transferred to another outfit.  Little did he know what was really going to be asked of him.

The Thule Society of the Third Reich has taken an unusual interest in an area of Romania.  The area is known for its supernatural history.  While all of the stories have been proven to be myths and old wives tales, the fact that the Thule Society is in the area makes people wonder.

The Chaplain Tom Lacey was released as the battalions spiritual leader and would become a leader of a small commando team to investigate the town of Umbra Adâncă.

Captain Ryker and Lieutenant Williams

While Reverend Lacey was the battalion Chaplain, he would watch Captain Ryker come into the church for prayer.  When the Reverend was tasked with creating a team to go to Romania, he knew that Captain Ryker would be a major help.  The Captain had a strong spirit and firm belief in God.

Captain Ryker was prepared, both physically and spiritually, to go investigate the occult and arcane arts in Romania.  But, he wouldn't do it without Williams.  Williams had been Ryker's Lieutenant for many missions and knew that he could be trusted with his own life.

Sergeant Stryker

The Major knew he needed to have a strong, commanding NCO.  He checked around battalion for some recommendations, but none stood out to him.  While observing various units, a Sergeant kept standing out to him.  Sgt. Stryker was all business and would get the job done.  No one really knows his background, nor does he talk much about his private life.  But if he can lead his men and shoot straight, none of that should matter.

Corporal Smith

There is no one with a better marksman score than Corporal Smith.  His stealth and perception abilities are off the chart.  While the Major believes they'll be mostly in confined spaces, he knows that having a sniper will be invaluable.

Privates Henney and Barton

Privates Billy Henney and Jacob Barton are boyhood friends that enlisted together.  Since the first day of their military career, they've never been apart.

While the Reverend only needed one more soldier to round out his team, he understood that the bond these two have couldn't be broken.  And while the Reverend could have passed on them, he took a chance and tasked both to his team.  Hopefully the Reverend won't regret that decision.

I prefer clear bases for skirmish games.  With clear bases, you can see the terrain the model is standing on.  I've seen models with grassy bases standing on the deck of a ship.  To me, that is distracting.  But, that's the gaming world according to Troy.  ;)
